How many of you have seen these banana pops online before?! I’ve been seeing them everywhere lately, so naturally I had to take a stab at making them myself!
For one, I love bananas, and two I love a good healthy snack. Especially before and after a good workout.
Bananas are great before AND after workouts! They’re awesome at boosting metabolisms and repairing muscle.
For the longest time I thought they were dipped in chocolate, which, WOULD taste amazing. But would also take a healthy snack hero to zero, REAL quick. More like a dessert!
Instead of using chocolate, I found that you could use almond milk and cocoa powder! Super simple, right?
To get just the right chocolatey consistency, you need the right amount of honey, almond milk and cocoa powder.
I failed at my first attempt.
I love that these banana pops calls for so few ingredients! 3-4 and your all set!
On my second attempt, I got the balance just right and they came out perfectly! Me and S were fighting over them. The best part, they actually keep in the fridge for a couple of days… helllooooooo breakfast for the week!
Here’s what you need to make your own vegan banana pops!
- 3 organic bananas
- 3 tbsp of cocoa powder
- 4 tbsp of almond milk
- 4 tbsp of honey
- Nuts & granola to top
In a small pan, warm your almond milk on medium heat.
When the almond milk has reached medium heat, add your honey and stir in throughly.
Next add your cocoa powder and mix well until you achieve a creamy, chocolatey texture.
Then you can either dip your bananas into the pot, or drizzle your cocoa honey milk on top. And garnish with any nuts or granola of your choice!
