Hiya friends, question for you! Have you been noticing an increasing number of serving board / charcuterie board photos online lately?! I’m not sure if it’s the holiday season that’s got everyone in the entertaining mood, or if people just really LOVE servings boards (like I do).
I have a feeling though, that they’re here to stay, and are only going to get more popular. I think it’s because people want to feel like they’re a part of something. Like they’re right there next to you, sharing the food on your serving board. And maybe even more so during the holidays!
Without sounding too much like Debbie Downer (good old Deb), while the holidays can be a magical and festive time for so many of us, they can also be a lonely time for a lot of people. I know that when I look at a serving board, I think of how blessed we are. Blessed to have ALL of THIS on our plates, to share with friends and family. And in sharing my serving board inspiration with all of you today, if that can serve as a reminder to never forget to count our blessings and to share with those who need it more, then my job is done!
Serving boards have always been a big hit at my place.
Whether for dinner parties that S & I host for friends, or seasonal entertaining for the holidays, we like to pull out all the stops! My guests (myself included) all love a good variety of sweet and savoury, though, I would say mostly savoury. For this reason, I always like to have a nice selection of olives, hummus and crackers.

I served the President’s Choice Olive Tapenade Hummus Role recently, and it was the first thing to be devoured from the board! My friends, (and again, myself included) L-O-V-E-D it!
Isn’t it so funny how our tastes evolve over time!? I remember as a kid I used to loathe even the smell of olives. I couldn’t be found anywhere near them! Now? I can’t get enough of them, and, funnily enough, look at all the olive flavoured items I’ve got on my serving board!

Meatless charcuterie board inspiration
I’m always amazed at the endless opportunities I continue to discover on this meatless mission I’ve been on lately. Not long ago, I shared a clever “Sea-Cuterie” Board that President’s Choice presented to me at one of Loblaw’s flagship locations. I thought that was such an interesting way to introduce a meatless charcuterie board – something I’d never thought of before!
Now, I can’t stop thinking about all the opportunities and just how easy it is to go meatless. I served this board to friends who are not at all vegetarian, and they devoured the entire board not even realizing that it was in fact meatless! All the hummus and olives helped with this feat I’m sure!
