From hiking in Whistler, to watching the sun set over the BC mountains, to even connecting with friends over vegan pizza in Vancouver, this week has reminded me how travel is at the root of inspiration.
On Sunday morning, my heartmate and I woke up in Whistler. We rented bikes and set for exploring yet another provincial park and getting lost at Whistler’s Lost Lakes.
In an effort to maximize our experiences while travelling in British Columbia, Joffre Lakes Provincial Park was a must! The beautiful aqua coloured waters and connecting with nature were both so invigorating! I even had a beautiful wild bird, pitch on my hand for food!
While in Whistler, why not pay to partake in a bear safari?! While the turnout was dismal, with a result of 0 wild bear spotting, I did get to see the sun set over the mountains, and the night sky light up with shining stars.
Wednesday proved a much needed restorative and rejuvenating day. With a retreat to Whistler’s Spa Scandinave, the heart mate and myself prioritized some self-care.
On a day-trip return from Whistler to Vancouver, Thursday evening was reserved for a second visit to Virtuous Pie! This time for dinner with Anna of @anna.pelzer, Luckie of @luckielifestyle, Amanda of @allshedoesiseat_, and Nova of @novsie.
Low and behold, who knew that I’d be reunited with family from Montreal, over 4000 km across the the country. Time spent with my first cousins, second cousins and my dear aunt, was so nostalgic and reminiscent of my childhood. I was so inspired by the importance of family, and never forgetting one’s roots.
After almost three weeks of travelling across British Columbia in a van with my heartmate, Saturday we soared over the rockies and our beautiful country of Canada. Hearts full of love, and minds of memories.
