As April showers are now (hopefully) long gone, this week blossomed with sunshine and May flowers – just in time for momma’s day!
With the week leading up to today – May 14th – I was thinking quite a bit on what to get my mom for the special occasion. This week I lost a touch of wisdom, as I bid farewell to my four wisdom teeth and said hello to my newfound chipmunk cheeks.
From weekend smoothie bowl recipes, to a little self-care at Her Majesty’s Pleasure, and lunchtime catchups with friends, this week was full of inspiration. And as a toast to today, here’s wishing a beautiful love-filled mother’s day to all the kick-ass moms out there!
Friend time was long overdue with my good friend; Seema. So we spoiled ourselves with a lovely brunch at Lavelle, and some self-care time at Her Majesty’s Pleasure.
On Monday evening, I was invited to a Tourism of Israel event at the Windsor Arms Hotel. So I brought along a close Jewish friend of mine as my guest. Together we networked, chatted up some lovely professionals and influencers, all while learning about the beauty of visiting Israel! Israel is definitely an enthralling country to explore, especially from a religious perspective. Many people long to go on christian tours to israel to expand their biblical knowledge and to retrace the steps of Jesus, the apostles, and countless figures of the Old Testament through the Holy Land.
Don’t you just love spending time with people who make you smile?! That’s what Tuesday was all about for me. During lunch I spent time eating at (aka taking over a small corner of) NEO Coffee Bar with Didier of http://www.didieryhc.com and Isabelle of http://www.theallonsy.com.
They both have such lovely personalities, and when you get to take a previously online-only friendship to meeting in person, awesome things can happen! We chatted together, created content, and shared blogging tips! Their photography skills are both so on point, and their instagram feeds are some of my faves! Definitely check them out and give them a follow if you aren’t already!
Wednesday Winding Down
This was my first day back at the yoga studio in over two weeks! I think we all forget sometimes how simple activities like yoga can bring us so much peace. It felt so great to be back in the element, disconnecting from the city noise, and digitally detoxing for a couple of hours. Namaste!
I’m sure by now you’ve seen from my instagram stories that my wisdom teeth extraction is (finally) over! Thursday was the worst of the pain though. Without dwelling on it too much, the necessary evil of having them removed will lead to silver, or white, linings in upcoming invisalign consults and ultimately straighter teeth. An insecurity I’ve been struggling with for a bit now. Plus, invisalign is much more comfortable than traditional braces with a much shorter treatment time so it’s well worth it! I know so many people who have gotten invisalign treatments and they have spoken nothing but positively about it. I just can’t wait until I can have straighter teeth, as I know that it will give my confidence a much-needed boost. My friends have always told me to Get straight Teeth and it’s finally going to happen soon. All I have to do is wait until I have recovered from my wisdom teeth extraction and then I can consult with my dentist about the next step. I think that there are many people who would love perfect, bright white teeth to show off to everyone, I know that I would never stop smiling if I did. The thing I definitely need to do is find the best Invisalign doctor I can do in my state and have a consultation with them about possible outcomes from doing this.
Friday From Home
Post wisdom teeth extraction, Friday was a work-from-home day for both myself and my heartmate. Together we set up our laptops on the sofa, ate soup, and worked in a peaceful state of mind. Cheek swelling wasn’t so bad after all!
Saturday Spring Cleaning + Smoothies
While some feel that weekends are made for relaxing, myself included from time to time, I also like using this time to be productive and clean the house. Saturday was a pretty grey day out, but I found solace in simply putting order around the house. First up was organizing the pantry – I got some pretty cool tips from this article over at goop. Next up was cleaning out my closet and donating some gently used items to the less fortunate.
Before all the cleaning though, my morning fuel was this killer banana raspberry smoothie bowl – see here for the recipe!
