Two things I learned this week:
- Positivity attracts positivity.
- The little things in life sometimes bring you the most happiness.
Have you ever read “the secret”?
I have, and I liked it!
It’s all about positive thinking and the law of attraction. About how you can get exactly what you want out of life, nay, handed to you by the universe, by simply thinking positively. Crazy?! Not sure yet.
For someone who seemingly has a LOT of positive days, I too wake up to my share of mornings on the wrong side of the bed. But I’m not about having any negativity in my life.
Good. Vibes. Only.
I like to think that my good vibes come from seeing the positive sides of situations.
I like to read, a lot. Books, newspapers, The New Yorker, BLOGS! It seems I draw inspiration from a number of places, and that too is key to being happy. Having a thirst or hunger for inspiration always keeps my creative muscles flexing, and I find that important. If something in your life isn’t making you happy, remove it from the equation. Period.
From walks in the park, to features on blogs, to entire days spent exploring Toronto with my heartmate, inspiration comes in many forms. Here are the seven moments that inspired me to keep the bad vibes out and good vibes IN!
Having fun in the kitchen making Pineapple Fried Gluten-Free Couscous for a fun project I worked on with President’s Choice! How to Host a Dinner Party for Your Lactose-, Gluten-, Soy-, & Meat- Free Friends!
Monday during the day I got to hang out with the creator of Nagi – aka only my favourite all-organic, natural, vegan snack bars of all time! Justina, Founder of Nagi, had holistic nutritionist @naturally_nora onsite and together we chatted about, well, nutrition!
As a blogger, I’m fortunate to be privy to a lot of previews, mostly of clothing collections and store openings, before they come to market. Tuesday’s focus was on Lacoste (a brand which you may know I quite like. No, adore!), and their FW17 collection. The pieces of the collection were super slick, and I fell in love with a knitwear that reads “un crocodile”!
Every day is kind of a pinch-me moment for me, particularly as it relates to my blog. I’m so honoured by even the tiniest of actions, like someone mentioning on social media that they tried and liked one of my recipes!
But WEDNESDAY proved a wondrous pinch-me moment when Butter Public Relations shared a feature article about me on their list of “ONES TO WATCH”!
Spoiled. Rotten. I am. And so blessed, too.
Have a read of my interview with Butter PR to learn about my signature dish, the mobile app I can’t live without, and which documentaries / books inspire me!
Yet another pinch-me moment on Thursday with a preview of the new Whole Foods Market store opening in Leaside, Toronto! More pics and details to come, but let’s just say the store left me feeling revitalized and inspired to kick my recipes on Inspired by Nick up a notch! Or two 🙂
Celebrations were in order on Friday, as it was my one and only furbaby’s birthday! Yep! @zsazsachihuahua turned four years old on Friday April 28th 2017! Happy birthday Zsa Zsa!
With the weekend upon us, the heartmate and I took to the streets of Toronto! We walked all the way from downtown to midtown, to uptown. We stopped in at Oretta Cafe for a little afternoon delight, and enjoyed the nooks and crannies that our beautiful city has to offer!
