I know people may say this quite often, but I really can’t help but feel like time is passing so quickly! The bat of an eyelash and whoosh, the day is gone.
I’ve come to realize that as much as I may feel overwhelmed at times with what seems like I’m working three + jobs, I quite enjoy keeping busy. I like to have a full calendar because it makes me feel like I’m living life. Like I have things to do. (Lots of things. All of the things… sometimes!)
Whether it’s setting aside time for a client photoshoot, making a recipe, or even just booking time to clean the house, I enjoy being a busy bee!
Maybe not so much the running around from one thing to another, but more so in having a well-organized and neat calendar. You know, for me to keep track of everything on the go!
My key learning here though, is finding balance and in keeping that calendar clean as a whistle! A fine balance between being busy, and being overwhelmed can be a tough find, but once you’ve struck it, you’re golden.
Here are the seven moments from this past week that have reminded me to take a break from the busy life, and enjoy every moment, big or small.
After a week (and a bit) of spending time with family in Montreal, a quick flight home to snuggle and snooze on the sofa was just what my heartmate and I needed.
On Monday, I worked from home, which gave me ample time to whip up a purple smoothie bowl for breakfast. I love the rich color of this one, so energizing!
I’m still singing the tunes to Gatsby after a night of playing dress-up at Lavelle for my dear friend Darlene’s 27th birthday bash! The hashtag for the night was #thenewgirlturns27 if you want to have a look at all the great gatsby getups!
Wednesday was one of those “back-to-back” days for me. A work breakfast in the early morning, several meetings glued to each other in my calendar, a quick break for lunch, a blog deliverable, and more glued meeting in the afternoon. My inspiring moment for the day was taking (re: making) the time for catching up with friends over lunch at Kupfert & Kim, a fave place of mine in the city!
On Thursday I was thankful to work from home again, affording me enough time on to prepare a proper healthy meal for lunch! I was inspired by whatever was left in the fridge, can you tell?! >_<
Despite my tired body and mind after a long week of work, I gave my word to attend a fitness class hosted by Jugo Juice! It didn’t disappoint and yet again, I got my butt kicked by another tough spin class at SpokeHaus!
Saturday morning I decided to put one of the two pineapples on my counter to use and bring a little more summer sunshine into the kitchen. I made these fun pineapple smoothie boats! Stay tuned for the recipe coming in my very next blog post this week!
