This week was a special week for me as I traveled from Toronto to San Diego on a work trip. I used my down time to re-balance, let myself be grounded, assimilate to the relaxed west coast vibes and reflect on a few things that’ve been weighing on my mind.
Crazy how a couple of days in a new location can do that to you huh?!
Every day was a new discovery, and a shift in perspective is sometimes all we need to see things in a new light. I learned about the benefits of earthing from a great article shared by goop.
I spent several days at a cafe that I fell in love with and today I’m so happy to share all the moments that inspired me on my travels and some from back home in Toronto, too.
My first full day in San Diego. I loved it. The sunshine. The calmness. The West Coast. I also discovered Cafe Gratitude on this day and fell in love with the mural on their wall: “we are thankful for the food before us, the friends beside us, and the love within us”
On Monday I explored more of San Diego and tried a new vegan restaurant, Sol Cal Cafe. I loved the exploring more than anything and marveled at the city’s gems.
This was my first time visiting Balboa Park. I explored the rose gardens, which were so inspiring, as well as a couple of the park’s museums and botanical garden. I’m a total nature freak, and it felt so good to be grounded here.
In my last post where I shared a San Diego Food Guide, you can read more about my discovery of Bar Kindred. I felt like a total bad-ass eating at this bar!
If you know me well enough, you know that I used to be an avid runner (read my marathon journey here). So every now and then I, especially by the water or beach, I treat myself to a nice long run.
This was my last day in San Diego so I threw on my sneaks and just let myself run and explore the marina for an hour in the morning.
What’s that?! I’m a brand ambassador for HopScotch Restaurants!?! Yep! I shared the news with this picture on Instagram, and I couldn’t be happier to be partnered with such an awesome, Canadian-based, health conscious brand! Stay tuned for more info to this brand expands into spring and summer!
Friday I wasn’t feeling so hot, with a pounding headache and rumbling stomach ache. The remedy was a long conversation I had at home with my heartmate. Sometimes it’s important to find both personal inner balance + zen as a couple. He keeps me grounded.
One word, brunch. There’s this saying I heard once that went something like: “friends who brunch never need therapy.” And while I can’t comment on that from a medical perspective, I can say that I love brunch as a time to catch up with friends.
