Last month I booked an appointment for a certified yoga instructor to come to my home and guide me through a new method of yoga.
If you follow my journey over on Instagram @inspiredbynick, then you may already know that the yoga studio I’ve subscribed to here in Toronto follows the Bikram method. It’s not my preferred approach to yoga if I’m being perfectly honest, but it is effective. It provides the challenging workout I’m looking for, while also leaving me feeling more enlightened, more connected.
I’ve always loved the feeling I get after finishing a hot yoga class. Almost as much the feeling I get after a long run. Almost.
That said, I’d been curious to try a new approach to yoga… without having to subscribe to a new studio or get invested with a new class. I knew that if I wanted to master this new approach I would need 1:1 attention with the instructor. So I decided to try MediSeen — and before I go any further, this article is written in partnership with MediSeen, however, all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own and honest.
I decided to give MediSeen a shot because I liked what they stood for.

And as it pertained to what I was looking for in a new yoga method, I was ready to book my one on one with Kathy Felkai, a yoga instructor who believes in restoring health at any age through proper movement of the body.
Here’s a link to the video summary of the appointment I had with Kathy Felkai in our meditation room at home! https://youtu.be/T_a_6Wr7vmQ
Booking the appointment through the MediSeen website was fairly easy – what you would expect from any modern day service booking site.
But it’s so much more than that!
It’s actually so much more than just yoga, too. They offer a comprehensive list of medical services with professionals that you can book to come to you, making healthcare more accessible and convenient for you.
I thought it was a really clever business model that I was instantly attracted to.
Accessible physicians, acupuncturists, chiropractors, personal trainers, registered dieticians, social workers, yoga therapists and more.
Imagine having a doctor come to you, in your home for a private, personalized hour-long appointment devoted to your health and conditions. Versus having to make your way to a clinic, take a number, be exposed to countless germs, and wait to be “served” only to spend 10 minutes with a doctor who will often (in my case anyway) prescribe antibiotics to fight whatever conditions you’re suffering.
We’ve all been there. It’s no fun.
And in this case, I was specifically looking for one-on-one advice and guidance as I attempted this new yoga method. The personal development and attention you get directly from an instructor on a one-to-one basis versus a one-to-thirty (and sometimes one-to-fifty) basis is incredibly beneficial to your learning experience. And it can all be catered directly to your specific needs and conditions. I loved that.
Kathy, the instructor, was great. And you can see from the video that the appointment left me feeling enlightened.
Whether you’re looking for a one-on-one yoga instructor/therapist to teach you specific moves or a new method, you can book it through MediSeen. Subsequently, if you’re looking for more direct medical attention, like you would get from a clinic’s physician, or a chiropractor or other medical professional, you can book those through the same site!
With a few of my aging family members, I would certainly recommend they use MediSeen. In their cases the biggest advantage would be to receive in-home care without them having to struggle to make their way to a hospital or clinic because of their reduced mobility.
Have you used a service like MediSeen before, and if so, how did you like it? Would you sign up to receive one-on-one yoga classes? Or have a physical therapist come to you for physiotherapy sessions? Let me know in the comments below or on social media @inspiredbynick!
