If I’m being honest, my version of “treating yourself” usually has something to do with some kind of chocolate or dessert.
But every now and then, with all of the things that come with a hectic city life, you just gotta treat yourself. Am I right?! Whether it’s with chocolates, a day at the spa, a night out, or any one of your guilty pleasures, just treat yourself friends!!
Take the time you need to relax and enjoy something that brings you pleasure. If not, and if you’re anything like me, you’ll just get carried away with all of the things you “HAVE” to get done on the day to day, and lose out on the “me-time” you so desperately deserve!
Treating yourself has more to do with living well than you think!
For me, treating myself meant seven long-stemmed roses from Stok Floral & Design – the cutest floral shop in the city. S and I actually ordered our centrepieces from them too (which I can’t wait share with you… AFTER the wedding of course!). When I saw the roses, I knew I had to have them.
It wasn’t about cheering myself up or any metaphor for love or relationships, it was simply to treat myself to something I found pretty. Something that would bring me happiness. So now, they sit on my desk all day at work and serve as a reminder to take a minute, to pause and appreciate the smaller things in life, that really can have an impact on your mood!
Winter really felt like an eternity. And as we reach the tail end, I found myself longing for nature to catch up! The snow, the cold, the rain, the grey skies, the darkness, the sharp wind… it all just took it’s toll. And as I prepare for a spring wedding (hopefully enveloped in budding trees and blooming greens), the roses were just what I needed to treat myself to something that would bring a smile to my face!
What kinds of things do you like to treat yourself with?! Feel free to share them with me in the comments section below! Happy first week of spring friends – be sure to treat yourself today!
