I’m sure it comes as no surprise that I am a self-proclaimed smoothie bowl enthusiast and aficionado.
Summer or winter, I love me my smoothies!
There’s my weekday morning smoothie recipe that I usually prepare the night before I head into the office. This lets me grab and go in the mornings without adding time to my already hectic early sunrise schedule.
Then there are my weekend smoothies that usually take form in bowls, enjoyed with a spoon, and topped with plenty of sweet and savoury toppings. Pistachio is my fave!
The one easy vegan smoothie recipe that I simply cannot get enough of lately, is my winter berry dessert smoothie recipe.
Eight ingredients. Five minutes to prep.
Where can I sign up?!
I won’t lie, once or twice during the week I’ll switch things up and sneak a winter berry dessert into my breakfasts. You would think that winter’s colder temperatures would encourage me to make some warmer breakfasts like a tofu scramble, but no. I love me my smooth-ays! Besides, who has time for elaborate breakfasts during the week anyway, without sacrificing precious sleep & rest? Not this guy!
If you are looking for a heartier winter smoothie recipe with less fruit and more veg, I’ll be sharing one of my favourite sweet potato smoothie recipes shortly, so stay tuned for that later next month.
Without further ado, my winter berry dessert smoothie recipe is all set for you here!
- 1 frozen, ripe banana
- ½ cup frozen blueberries
- 1 heaping tbsp of smooth, raw almond butter
- ½ cup Califia vanilla almond milk (a personal fave of mine)
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp white chia seeds
- 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder
- 2 tsp maple syrup
Pulse all ingredients in your home blender until smooth. Serve and enjoy.
Because this is a naturally sweeter smoothie, some of my favourite ingredients to add as toppings are more savoury like almonds and pistachios. I usually add fresh fruit, too, because I like the texture. And coconut flakes are always a must for me! 🙂
