I recently picked up these awesome natural dog treats called Zoe’s Lifestyle Treats for Dogs while shopping at HomeSense.
Our pup (Zsazsa) had been in need of some dental (and breath) relief for a while and I decided to give these a try. He loved them, INSTANTLY! The packaging is great, yes. But more importantly, they’re a healthy treat for him. They’re made with Quinoa, they’re gluten free and wheat free, and he loves the flavor – Cinnamon Spice! We’ve been giving him about one a day since we picked them up and his breath’s honestly improved drastically.
They’re the perfect size for his little teeth too!
I’m always cautious when buying treats and food for the dog. It’s so important to read the ingredients label befor buying, just like we do for ourselves. Dog food and dog treat brands have historically injected a ton of artificial flavors and fillers with no nutritional value to your pups whatsoever (see here for which brand I go with to feed my little guy). So when I came across Zoe’s Lifestyle Treats and read the ingredient label, I was so happy to see a majority of natural and healthy ingredients. Zsazsa’s been hooked on these healthy dog treats ever since! As much as he loves these treats, I think I might try him on some other ones soon. My friends use antlers for dogs and apparently their dog really likes them so I might give these a go and see how he gets on.
I know that I emphasize the healthiness of your dog’s treats, but that does not mean you should be slack with how healthy your dog’s main meals are. Your dog’s food has a huge impact on their health and in prevention from certain conditions and diseases. Many choose this raw dog food to ensure that there is a prevention of worms and parasites that our dogs do not have the immunity to fight off. If you ever feed your dog raw fruit or veg instead of treats, make sure you read up on what’s healthiest for them – it doesn’t always work for them the same way it does with us humans. Fruits that are usually great healers for us might not be for dogs, so before you slip your beloved pet some fruit, ask yourself are cranberries safe for dogs to eat? This is the right step towards keeping our dogs happy and healthy!
